Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal recently opened up about a rather relatable and humorous incident involving Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan. In a recent interview, Grewal revealed that he could not reply to the actor’s text messages for months because he was terrified of making a grammatical error or sending the wrong message in English .

The Fear of the Wrong Message

Grewal and Aamir Khan share a close friendship, which was forged during the filming of Laal Singh Chaddha . However, the Punjabi star admitted that this proximity to the perfectionist actor came with a surprising obstacle: the fear of texting.

“When Aamir sir texts me in English, it takes me four days to reply. I keep reading his text repeatedly,” he admitted. “I have even written the reply on a piece of paper and checked it twice. I don’t want to send him a reply that says something else,” he added, explaining his anxiety about sending him a text that may convey the wrong meaning.

Confessing the ‘Cheat’

Grewal’s fear was so significant that he avoided responding to Aamir’s messages for almost 4-5 months. Eventually, when Aamir confronted him about his silence, Grewal decided to come clean.

“I told him, ‘I’m sorry, but I don’t know how to reply to you in English. That is why I haven’t replied to any of your messages for the last 4-5 months’,” Grewal admitted.

To Grewal’s relief, Aamir Khan did not judge him. “He just smiled and said, ‘You could have simply said that’ and told me not to worry about it,” he recalled .

Grewal recounted a particular incident where he typed a reply to one of the star’s texts, only to realize he had accidentally pressed the ‘Save’ button instead of ‘Send’, meaning Aamir never actually received it. To this, Aamir jokingly replied, “Your phone doesn’t have a send button.” .

Aamir’s Advice: Don’t Overthink

Aamir advised Grewal to stop overthinking and just send a simple “OK” or “That’s fine” in the future. The story has since gone viral, with fans appreciating Aamir’s down-to-earth nature and Grewal’s honesty, proving that even celebrities struggle with the pressure of a perfect text message .
