The wait is finally over for fans of Phulera. Amazon Prime Video has officially locked in ‘Panchayat’ Season 5 as part of its 2026 Indian content slate, confirming that the beloved rural comedy-drama will return for another chapter.

The show, created by The Viral Fever (TVF), has become one of India’s most-watched web series, winning audiences with its simple humour, emotional depth, and authentic portrayal of village life.

When and where to watch

While an exact release date has not been announced, ‘Panchayat’ Season 5 will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2026.

The production team reportedly began filming in April 2026, and the new season is expected to pick up directly from the dramatic events of Season 4.

Cast returning for Season 5

The core cast is set to return. Jitendra Kumar will reprise his role as Abhishek Tripathi, the engineering graduate-turned-panchayat secretary whose journey remains the heart of the story.

Neena Gupta will return as Manju Devi, alongside Raghubir Yadav, Sanvikaa (Rinki), Faisal Malik, and Chandan Roy.

What to expect from the new season

Season 4 ended with major cliffhangers. Abhishek cleared his CAT exam and finally expressed his feelings for Rinki. However, the village election changed everything – Manju Devi lost the Pradhan position to Kranti Devi.

Season 5 will explore life under “new, vengeful leadership” in Phulera, according to the official synopsis. While Abhishek focuses on his MBA plans, unresolved village conflicts continue to pull him back into Phulera’s politics.

Writer Chandan Kumar told IANS that the new season will answer lingering questions about the election, Abhishek and Rinki’s relationship, and the mystery behind the attack on Pradhan Ji – but with unexpected twists.

Neena Gupta also reacted to fan theories about Manju Devi’s political comeback, jokingly saying: “The script has leaked. Get ready for the next season – the script has already leaked!”

Part of Prime Video’s 2026 lineup

‘Panchayat’ Season 5 was announced alongside other TVF series including new seasons of ‘Sandeep Bhaiya’ and ‘Gram Chikitsalay’.

Manish Menghani, Director & Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, confirmed the fifth season, saying: “We look forward to continuing the journey of Phulera and its beloved characters.”

What fans are saying

Social media has been buzzing since the announcement. Fans are eager to see how Abhishek balances his CAT success with his remaining tenure in Phulera, and whether Manju Devi will attempt a political comeback.

With its confirmed 2026 release window, ‘Panchayat’ Season 5 promises more laughter, emotion, and village drama from the fictional hamlet of Phulera.
