The teaser debuted at San Diego Comic-Con, revealing a darker tone and new characters as the battle for Middle-earth intensifies
The teaser for the upcoming season 3 of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24. Actor Simon Pegg has joined the cast, voicing the Balrog as the third season brings new characters with Eddie Marsan as Thrain, Andrew Richardson as Anarion, and Adam Young as Marnûkh.
The teaser gives a glimpse into the darker tone of the show as Middle-earth goes to war. Five years have passed since the fall of Eregion and the dark lord Sauron’s armies have marched across the world. Sauron plans to forge the One Ring as other free people of Middle-earth – Dwarves, Elves, Men, and Wizards – try to find a way to come together to prevent Sauron from dominating everyone. The new season promises to be a thrilling, action-packed follow-up set five years after the events of last season.
The Cast
The show stars Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman in pivotal roles. Simon Pegg joins the cast as the voice of the Balrog, adding a significant new presence to the ensemble.

It is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay. They are joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and executive producer-director Charlotte Brändström. Release Details
The first four episodes of Season Three of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere on November 11, 2026. Episodes 305 & 306 will be available to stream on November 18, and the final two episodes of the season will be released on November 25.
