Kochi, India – The trailer for I’m Game, marking Dulquer Salmaan’s much-anticipated return to Malayalam cinema as a lead after three years, has been released. The action thriller, written and directed by Nahas Hidhayath (RDX), is set against the backdrop of the high-stakes gambling and betting industry. The film, which is set to release on August 20, will clash at the box office with Nivin Pauly’s Bethlehem Kudumba Unit and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa.
The trailer showcases Dulquer as Dan John, a character who affirms that the greatest secret to gambling is a “pure algorithm.” It promises high-octane action sequences and a stylish, visually compelling narrative. Produced by Dulquer under his banner Wayfarer Film, I’m Game features a screenplay by Sajeer Baba, Bilal Moidu, and Ismail Aboobacker, with a star-studded cast including Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, Antony Varghese, Samyuktha Viswanathan, Vinay Forrt, and Kathir. The technical team includes cinematographer Jimshi Khalid, editor Chaman Chakko, and music by Jakes Bejoy.

This film marks Nahas Hidhayath’s sophomore project following the success of his action debut, RDX (2023). For Dulquer, it is a significant project following his cameo in the Malayalam film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra and his last lead role in King of Kotha, which, despite pre-release hype, failed to deliver at the box office. He was also recently seen in the Tamil film Kaantha. With I’m Game, the actor aims to re-establish his presence in the Malayalam film industry with a genre that promises both style and substance, setting up a major box office clash as it arrives in theaters next month.
