The Prime Video original follows a laid-back government school headmaster who dreams of a training programme in Cambridge, but his plans are met with unexpected challenges
The trailer of Kay Kay Menon starrer series, Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Written by Biswapati Sarkar, Akshay Asthana, Nupur Pai, Tatsat Pandey, and Meghna Srivastava, the series is directed by Humank Gaur.
The trailer introduces its central character, Gyaneshwar Tripathi (Menon), a laid-back headmaster of a government school, Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya. Everything changes for him when he learns that the headmasters of ten Delhi schools with the best board results will earn a government-sponsored training programme in Cambridge. Tripathi then takes matters in his own hands and starts taking major steps to improve the quality of education at the school but is overcome with a series of problems on the way as students refuse to follow him. The series promises to be a quirky feel-good drama with a heart.
What the Director Says
Speaking about it, director Gaur said in a statement, “A lot of what you see in Adarsh Baal Vidyalaya comes from the core memories we all carry from our school days. What made this journey even more special was bringing Biswapati and Sameer’s vision to life alongside an incredible cast led by Kay Kay Menon, Archana Puran Singh, a fantastic ensemble, and such a wonderful group of young actors who brought so much energy and authenticity to every scene.”

Menon added, “Over the years, I have had the chance to play all kinds of characters—from intelligence officers and politicians to criminals—but I have never played a headmaster before. That immediately intrigued me when I first read the script. What drew me in even more was how relatable Gyaneshwar is. He knows how to turn situations to his advantage. At the same time, there’s a goodness to him that makes him very human. These different layers made the role so interesting for me.”
Cast and Release
The series also stars Archana Puran Singh, Abhimanyu Singh, Naveen Kasturia, Prasanna Bisht, Deven Bhojani, Ajitesh Gupta, Annapurna Soni, and Prachee Shah in lead roles. Created and executive produced by Biswapati Sarkar and Sameer Saxena under the banner of Posham Pa Pictures, the seven-episode comedy-drama will be released on Prime Video on July 24.
