TV ratings for the 98th Academy Awards may have dipped, but interest in the fashion has never been higher. According to exclusive data from Launchmetrics, the Oscars 2026 red carpet generated a staggering $225.84 million in Media Impact Value (MIV)—a nearly $53 million increase from 2025.
In partnership with The Hollywood Reporter, Launchmetrics analyzed earned engagement across the awards season, and the results are clear: the women of Hollywood dominated, Chanel’s strategy paid off, and one luxury watch brand made a sparkling debut.
Top Fashion Brands: Chanel’s Winning Strategy
If you’re an iconic fashion house choosing who to dress for the biggest awards night of the year, you pick a best actress lock, a Hollywood icon, and a style sensation. That’s exactly what Chanel did, and the result was a first-place finish with $28.5 million in earned engagement.
| Rank | Brand | MIV (in millions) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Chanel | $28.5 |
| 2 | Dior | $20.3 |
| 3 | Louis Vuitton | $18.3 |
Chanel’s winning lineup:
- Jessie Buckley in a pink chiffon gown with a red satin leather stole (inspired by an Edith Head design for Grace Kelly).
- Nicole Kidman and Teyana Taylor in feather-embellished gowns.
- Gracie Abrams in a navy silk look.
- Pedro Pascal in a custom white tuxedo shirt with a feather brooch and Chanel Boy Friend timepiece.
Dior captured second place ($20.3 million) with standout looks including best supporting actress winner Amy Madison and Rose Byrne in a floral-embroidered gown. Louis Vuitton finished third ($18.3 million), dressing Oscar winners Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler, as well as nominees Emma Stone, Wunmi Mosaku, and Renate Reinsve.
Top Five Women: Chanel’s Trio Dominates
It’s unprecedented that three women all wearing the same fashion label ranked first, second, and third among the night’s top five. The looks felt uniquely tailored to each woman’s style and personality.
| Rank | Star | Brand | MIV (in millions) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Teyana Taylor | Chanel | $6.5 |
| 2 | Jessie Buckley | Chanel | $6.3 |
| 3 | Nicole Kidman | Chanel | $6.2 |
| 4 | Anne Hathaway | Valentino | $5.9 |
| 5 | Priyanka Chopra | Dior | $5.7 |
Anne Hathaway’s Valentino gown and her comedic onstage exchange with Anna Wintour (a nod to The Devil Wears Prada 2) helped secure her fourth-place finish. Priyanka Chopra’s feather-embellished Dior gown earned nearly 723,000 likes on her Instagram post alone, landing her in fifth place.
Top Five Men: Chalamet Squeaks by for No. 1
Timothée Chalamet finished first with his all-white Givenchy by Sarah Burton look, earning $3.8 million in MIV. But it was a close race with newcomer Hudson Williams, who earned $3.76 million in his all-black Balenciaga.
| Rank | Star | Brand | MIV (in millions) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Timothée Chalamet | Givenchy | $3.8 |
| 2 | Hudson Williams | Balenciaga | $3.76 |
| 3 | Michael B. Jordan | Louis Vuitton | $3.3 |
| 4 | Pedro Pascal | Chanel | $3.1 |
| 5 | Hudson Williams (Jewelry) | Bulgari | $2.4 |
Notably, if you combine Williams’ Balenciaga and Bulgari rankings, his total MIV reaches $6.16 million, eclipsing Chalamet. The women, however, continued to outpace the men: the top five women earned $37.9 million, compared to just $16.36 million for the top five men.
Top Jewelry & Watch Brands: Bulgari’s High Jewelry Debut
Bulgari captured first place with $9.7 million in MIV, thanks to a carefully orchestrated premiere.
| Rank | Brand | MIV (in millions) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Bulgari | $9.7 |
| 2 | Tiffany & Co. | $8.7 |
| 3 | Cartier | $5.2 |
| 4 | Rolex | $3.9 |
| 5 | Chopard | $2.8 |
Bulgari’s strategy: Global ambassadors Priyanka Chopra and Anne Hathaway wore never-before-seen pieces from the Eclettica high jewelry collection, debuting the collection days before its official March 23 launch. Hudson Williams’ Serpenti Tubogas watch also generated significant buzz.
Tiffany & Co. finished second ($8.7 million), in part due to a short film featuring new ambassador Natalie Portman that premiered during the broadcast.
Rolex captured fourth place ($3.9 million) with a double punch: Leonardo DiCaprio on the red carpet, and Zendaya’s surprise appearance as a presenter. Zendaya, newly named a Rolex Testimonee, wore a $177,400 Lady-Datejust fully pavéd in diamonds, and a 60-second spot featuring her aired during the ceremony.
Top Accessories: Christian Louboutin Tops
Christian Louboutin continued its dominance in accessories, earning $1.7 million in MIV. Musician Shaboozey stood out with his modernized white-tie look, featuring spectator Louboutin shoes that were among the best menswear details of the night.
| Rank | Brand | MIV (in millions) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Christian Louboutin | $1.7 |
| 2 | Roger Vivier | $1.2 |
| 3 | Jimmy Choo | $0.9 |
| 4 | Stuart Weitzman | $0.8 |
| 5 | Giuseppe Zanotti | $0.7 |
Roger Vivier took second place with high-profile placements on Gwyneth Paltrow and Anne Hathaway.
