Keanu Reeves is trading his John Wick suit for something far more vulnerable: a path of apologies. The first trailer for Jonah Hill’s dark comedy Outcome has arrived, offering a glimpse into a wildly original premise starring Reeves as a movie star on a quest to make amends.
Directed, co-written, and co-starring Jonah Hill, the film is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on April 10, 2026. It boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Cameron Diaz, Matt Bomer, Susan Lucci, Laverne Cox, David Spade, and even a cameo from legendary director Martin Scorsese.
What’s the Story?
The film centers on Reef Hawk (Reeves), a recently sober movie star who is being blackmailed. Someone is threatening to release an unflattering video of him. His lawyer, Ira (Hill), devises an unconventional plan: Reef must embark on an apology tour.
“I need to know everyone who hates you. You need to go and apologize to them, and without them realizing it, feel out if they’re the ones behind the video,” Ira explains in the trailer.
The premise sets the stage for a series of awkward, cringe-worthy, and potentially dangerous encounters. In one scene, Reeves’ character dryly admits, “I won’t say that I was hiding a heroin addiction from the public and that my best friends and my insane lawyer helped me cover it up for years.”
Jonah Hill on the Film’s Meaning
During the studio’s press day last month, Hill offered insight into the film’s deeper themes, connecting it to the modern experience of living on social media.
Hill described Outcome as “a metaphor for what we all go through, living on social media. Social media has made us obsessed [with] what people we don’t know think of us, instead of caring about what the people who know us best think of us.”
