Los Angeles, CA – A new promo for the much-anticipated superhero spectacle Avengers: Doomsday was unveiled by Marvel Studios during a showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on August 15. The promo offers a closer look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor von Doom, who is introduced by Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) as someone who has lost everything. “I didn’t realize that he was broken,” she says, as visuals show his masked face gazing at a painting. The footage then cuts to glimpses of the apocalyptic world, where Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards confronts Victor, asking if he caused the destruction. Victor opens his eyes and declares that all superheroes have lived stolen lives.
The promo intensifies as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) descends from the skies and approaches Victor, warning, “You will beg for hell long before I grant it.” Thor attacks Victor with his hammer, but Victor easily defends himself, throwing the hammer aside and pushing Thor away. In a chilling moment, Victor declares, “Hell answers to me. For I am doom.” The film, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, unites a star-studded cast including Chris Evans, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and many more.
Avengers: Doomsday brings together Marvel heroes from the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four in a multiverse-spanning epic. The film is set to release in theatres on December 18. With Downey Jr.’s return as a formidable villain, the promo has already generated immense excitement, promising a dark and thrilling chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
