“In a simple, hysterical way, he was phenomenal,” Reid said of Sandler, who officiated the couple’s wedding at Madison Square Garden
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid shared the advice that Adam Sandler gave Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at their wedding.
Reid was among the 1,000 guests — many of whom are from the worlds of Hollywood, music, sports and more — at the couple’s Friday night wedding, held at Madison Square Garden in New York. Sandler — who acted opposite Kelce in Happy Gilmore 2 — officiated the wedding.
The advice: ‘Keep kissing’
On Sunday, Reid was in Salt Lake City, Utah, serving as the guest narrator for a special broadcast titled Music & the Spoken Word honoring America’s 250th birthday. Afterward, Reid shared the advice that Sandler had for Swift and the Chiefs tight end.
“He told them to ‘keep kissing,'” Reid told the news outlet. “So, in its simplest form, that’s a good thing. It’s hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss, or your wife gives you a kiss. And make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to do it. Knock it out, and you won’t have problems.”
Praise for Sandler
He also praised Sandler’s performance as a wedding officiant.
“In a simple, hysterical way, he was phenomenal,” Reid said. “He’s crazy, but he did a great job in getting them married with a lot of humor. But, that part there I thought, pretty good advice, in its simplest form.”
The wedding celebration
Sandler performed an original song at the nuptials. Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney also performed, the latter reportedly delivering a rendition of The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”
Other invited guests included Brad Pitt and girlfriend Ines de Ramon; Jennifer Lopez; Selena Gomez; Bradley Cooper and girlfriend Gigi Hadid; Emma Stone; Reese Witherspoon; Zoë Kravitz; Tom Brady; Rob Gronkowski; Jack Antonoff; Gracie Abrams; Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry Seaborn; and many more.
