Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s sports action drama ‘Peddi’ continued its steady run at the domestic box office on Day 8, collecting an estimated Rs 6.30 crore net in India despite an expected weekday slowdown .
With this addition, the film’s total India net collection has reached Rs 193.55 crore, while its India gross collection stands at approximately Rs 229.95 crore . The film is now just Rs 6.45 crore away from crossing the coveted Rs 200 crore net milestone in India.

Worldwide total approaches Rs 280 crore
‘Peddi’ has also performed strongly in overseas markets. On Day 8, the film collected approximately Rs 60 lakhs from international territories, pushing its total overseas gross to Rs 49.40 crore .
The worldwide gross collection now stands at an estimated Rs 279.35 crore, with the film within touching distance of the Rs 280 crore milestone . Trade analysts predict that ‘Peddi’ could become Ram Charan’s first solo film to cross the Rs 300 crore worldwide mark in the coming days .
Controversy and corrective measures
Despite its box office success, ‘Peddi’ has been embroiled in controversy since its release. A section of viewers and critics criticized certain scenes involving Janhvi Kapoor’s character, accusing the film of objectifying the female lead .
The backlash intensified on social media, prompting director Buchi Babu Sana to issue a public apology and confirm that corrective measures had been implemented.
“In this process, a few shots turned misleading. We have taken corrective measures to remove them, and we have removed them,” Sana told SCREEN .
The filmmakers subsequently edited the controversial scenes, and the modified version is now being screened in theatres.
